Sorry For My Slacking

With much persistance by my Dad, I am updating my blog :) He informed me that I'm not updating often enough on what we have been up to.
So here goes...lol

About a week ago we received  this in the mail.

Happy. I. Was. Not. Homeschooling just may be in our future:) The boys have only missed four days of school this year and we get sent to court. Ridiculous.

The Defendants

I am so thankful that the Judge did understand why we took the Arkansas trip, that family is important, and he did not fine us the $250.00 plus court fees! Praise Jesus!!

Along with that this week we have had..
a sick little girl all week.
We have had lots of snuggle time but we are ready to get back to normal, enough with the 101 fever. She is ready to go back to Church and to Mothers Day Out to play with her friends!-(her words)

A conversation Grace and I had on Monday after watching Veggie Tales
"Mom, are we God's children?"
Yes we are!
 "We are!?!
Yes, He made you and me!
"And, Daddy too!?"
Yes, and Daddy too! And Jared and Caden.
"He made all of us! He made our mouth, teeth, and our tounge!? "
Yes, He sure did! :)

Learning To Put Others First

Last week The Boy Scouts asked Jared and a few of his friends to go shopping for the troop for their survival camp out. The boy's had to do the shopping (only with very little help from parents) and stay with in the budget.

They did a great job, and it only took us an hour and 15 minutes! Not bad with six kids and three adults!

Last week the kids also got to experience the gift of giving!  This was their first year to pick out gifts for children less fortunate through Operation Christmas Child. When we were shopping Grace kept referring to the little girl we were shopping for as, "My Girl". "My girl will love this, can we buy this for my girl?" We bought for a 10-14 year old boy and a 2-4 year old girl.

What a blessing! The kids loved this. They put so much thought into what should go into the boxes. This is now a new family tradition!

Delivery day at the church!
After we got home we were reading thought the brochure again and we discovered we can follow our boxes on line!

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” John 13:34

DeGray Lake Resort

We spent the last in week Arkansas.

Walking the streets Hot Springs.
Frog leg anyone? Yuck!
Jeff could not resist whistling the theme to the Andy Grifith show.
Sweet brother helping her:)

Not bad..not bad at all, for their first game of tennis!

Describes my boys to a T! No need to say more.

It wasn't all fun and games...taking time out for school work.

So thankful for a wonderful trip, and just being together!
Attention, all! See the marvels of God! He plants flowers and trees all over the earth, Bans war from pole to pole, breaks all the weapons across his knee. "Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything." Psalm 46:10 The Message (MSG)

Fall in Arkansas

Last week we had so much fun. We took the boys out of school and went to Hot Springs for a little family vacation.

My iPhone photos...

The nice man taking our picture made us laugh. I love it!

We were driving around and when we saw this tree we had to stop to get a picture. This photo does not do it justice. The color was so beautiful!

Fall is my favorite time of year.
This was our view on our last night in Arkansas. This is now one of our favorite places on earth.

“For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.” Psalm 36:9
