Dot-to-Dot

Today we did a little pre school. We were tracing letters and I remembered that she had a Dot-to-Dot work book but for ages 4-6 but I thought we would still give it a try.

Her very first work sheet with out any help. :)

All I can say is that she loved it! She completed 11 pages!! She refused to go outside and play and even refused Dora! Wow! :)

I took this photo of the kids just before they went to Nana & Papaw house on Saturday. No, I didn't put them in the dog house, they put themselves there. HA! They were hiding from me and Nana. Silly Kiddos.
He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Colossians 1:17

Suites

On Saturday Nana came by the house for a quick visit. Well, she ended up taking the kids with her over night. Wow! What a nice surprise!
This was the prefect opportunity for Jeff and I to take a little get away trip. Okay, well, not really a trip, but we did get away. Away from the house, and the everyday chores. We had a fabulous night.

This picture makes me laugh, I'm not sure why, it just does. Maybe it's my funny polished toes, or maybe it's the two coke zero's on the coffee table by the couch. Hmmm.....:)

We were only gone one night but we are so thankful for a little time together. It was so nice. Thank you Nana & Papaw.

Our Week

Has been busy. No, we haven't done a lot of extra errands, or running around town. We have been busy with busted water pipes.
No not from the cold weather, it survived that, but it couldn't survive Caden. See the baseball bat? That's what happens when an 8 year old boy is pretending to hit the ball out of the park!:) He came running inside saying,"Mom there is water shooting out all over the ground out there by the tree!" Caden, you hit it with your bat didn't you?! Yes, I didn't mean to though. Thankfully, he and I got it shut off within 10 minutes, I would have hated to see that water bill. :)

We have also been busy putting Jeff"s roof up on his shop.

The boys have enjoyed helping with this project.

All the while Grace was picking flowers. I don't know what it is about these weeds, but all three kids loved picking these weeds that look like little flowers. ;)

Jeff was on top of the ladder and she was trying to give him the flowers.
"Here you go Daddy!"
Thank you sweetheart.
This is my favorite. Jeff working with flowers in his shirt pocket.

Jared giving Caden a hard time. Ugh, my boys!
We had plans to meet some friends at the Winter Jam concert last night but had to cancel. Jared and I have been sick with a stomach virus. Thankfully we hadn't told the kids, Jeff and I were bummed enough for them.

Happy Birthday

Nenaw!
We had a fun visit today at Nenaw and Papaw's house, Grace was so excited she said all afternoon she was going to feed the squirrels, and skunks, with Papaw. :)
Papaw and Caden shooting a few hoops. Jared was in the house visiting with Nenaw and playin video games.

I can't believe it, we planted these Plum trees one week ago and we already have blooms!

No pictures this time but our cucumbers already have sprouts too! I am so excited! I know, I know, I'm a dork:)

Chocolate Bar

This morning was like every other morning. I said to Grace,"Good morning sunshine!"

Then I asked her, have you been eating chocolate?

I see HERSHEY'S Chocolate all over that little mouth. :)

Yes Mommy, I had one piece.

Yesterday the kids got out of school early
and we enjoyed our surprise visit from Nana & Papaw!

A Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend we were blessed with beautiful weather and we enjoyed every minute.
Friday night Jeff and I were blessed with the opportunty to go out on a date and spend some time together, alone. No little 3 1/2 year old running around or an 8 year old boy asking questions or pre teen ears trying to over hear our conversations. Ha!:)

Later that evening we met our good friends Eric and Aimee for desert! Thank you again, it was really a lot of fun and so very yummy!

Saturday was project day. Oh the joys of a pier and beam house:)
I love hearing and watching Jeff teach the boys. It always makes me think and wonder what kind of man, husband and father, they will be one day.

Saturday Jeff and Caden made a quick trip to Lowes to pick up a few things. So I thought;) He came home with my valentines gift, two Plum trees! He knows how much I love trees and these will hopefully produce fruit!!!! Yummy! Thank you hunny!

Sunday was planting day. The boys insisted that they help and even claimed a tree to water and to take care of.

Jared working on planting his tree.

Caden digging the hole for his.

All while Grace got to enjoy playing with Alyssa!...

up in the tree house.

CHEESE!!

Holding hands. So cute.

Caden giving the girls a ride around the back yard. We're very blessed with wonderful neighbors!

Summer School

Is where my boys will be if this frigid icy weather continues.

We did enjoy spending the day together though!

I even let Miss. Grace play with Play-Doh:)

She has only been begging since August to play with it! ;) I've never been much of a Play-Doh fan for the kiddos...as you can see I only let her pick one color to play with at a time. ;) I will say though she did VERY well and I just might let her play with it again, in a few months. Just kidding!

As much as I love the fall and winter months and spending snow days with my boys, I'm not in favor of going to school till July. ;)

He Is As Big As the Universe

I love the morning snuggle time with the boys, just before it's time to get up and go, go, go, to get ready for school.

Last week Caden said, "Mom, is God really as big as the universe and as small as a mouse all at the same time?"

I said, "Yes, he sure is, he is so small that"....Caden interrupts...."He fit inside my heart!"...."So, if he is as big as the universe that makes his pinky toe as big as the earth!"

The kids are very good entertainment, they keep us laughing all the time, we really never know what they will do or say next. :)

Snow Days!

The boys were out of school on Friday and we enjoyed our winter wonderland!

Papaw, the kids enjoyed riding the motorcycle in the snow!!

Jared was fine just watching... still being careful with his contacts:)

Yes he enjoyed riding down the hill :'/

She refused to wear her gloves but ready to take her turn.

After riding she was ready to go inside. So sweet!

What do you get with 1 snowy hill, 1 piece of cardboard, and 2 energetic boys?...You get lots of FUN!!!!
