Trying to get caught up

Thank you so much for all the prayers, phone calls and texts. I can say in all honesty this week has been one of the hardest weeks we have ever been through. Jeff and I are so thankful to have wonderful friends and family who really care about our sweet Caden.

We got the wonderful news today that all of his lab results are normal!! Praise the Lord!

Even if were not having a very exciting week I still like to get on here and post every few days. No other than just to journal. A lot has happened this week and I'm fallen behind. I will try to get caught up over the next few days.

As you can see Caden lost another tooth. I couldn't decide on which picture I liked best, so I posted both.:) Silly kid. He got in the car last Friday saying he pulled it while watching Tarzan. Didn't bleed or hurt a bit. I went to see the nurse just to get my necklace.

Jared and Grace played Ninja.

They were too cute!

May the force be with you..

Jared placed 2nd in the 50 yard dash on track and field day. Woohoo! Go Jared!!!

Last weekend I took Caden and Grace to Abigail's dance recital. Oh my word. Grace loved it!!..to say the least. She was asking to get on stage. I quote. "Mommy, can I please, please, please, be a princess dancer!"

Oh.. I almost forgot. We have been doing a lot of this too. Picking cucumber! Grace loves cucumbers! She picked one and bit into it right off the vine. Skin and all. She won't be doing that again. Yuck! Today the kids counted how may we have picked over the past two days..2 days I mind you. And the grand total is. Drum roll please... 32!! Yes people we have cucumbers coming out our ears!! We have given to family, several neighbors and Jeff has taken some to work. He told me today the plant manager called him on his phone and asked him if he had anymore of them cucumbers. Oh yes sir, I do! I will bring lots more tomorrow!! He is now known as the guy that brings all the cucumbers. Lol!! God has blessed us with a very fruitful garden. We had no idea we would have sooo much. We are enjoying sharing with others and bringing a smile to their face. So is anyone in need of cucumber???!! :)

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28

Jeremiah 29:11

The last couple of months has been so frustrating and discouraging for Jeff and myself as parents. With out the Lord, I don't know if we would have made it. With all that has happened, since the miscarriage in Dec. it has been very difficult, it feels like the kids are sick every couple of weeks. We have missed out on so much. Church, church functions, visiting with family and friends, and other fun actives. But, our focus has been on our children.

In February, Caden has had some health issues that have concerned us.
Since then, we have done a lot of reading, and have talked to one of our doctors hoping to get an idea of what could be going on with him. On Thursday Caden had an appointment with his doctor, (we were the last app. before lunch) he talked with us for about 45 minutes, he took his time with Jeff and I and all of our questions.

He ordered Lab work at the hospital early Friday morning, before school. The doctors are being cautious and wanting to rule out leukemia.

We are very proud of our little boy! I have never been so brave, and he is only 8 years old! I hate needles!!

Please keep him in your prayers. We're hoping we will know the results by the middle of next week.

I'll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11

Buddies

Over the last couple of days these two have been so sweet. One morning last week as we were headed to the car, Grace asked me if I would carry her out. As I was about to pick her up Caden said, no Mom I'll do it! That's okay sweetheart, I got it. No, I want too.

I can do it she's not that heavy.

A few days later I saw him carrying her in from playing outside.

But Saturday morning is my favorite...so sweet!

Blessings of Our Harvest

This is our second year of gardening and we again are all amazed at how GOD makes the smallest of things become life nourishing. We plant from seeds and just watch them grow.  Our God is so amazing!

I took these pictures tonight of our fruits and vegetables.
And unlike last year we have tomatoes sprouting!!

And if anyone is in need of cucumbers PLEASE just give us call..we will have an abundance!

Yummy squash!

And I can't forget our black berries we planted last year.

All I can say is WOW!  We will have tons to share!

Can't wait to see how our cantaloupe, lettuce and okra will do...

The land produced vegetation-plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, and trees bearing fruit with seeds in it according to their kinds, God saw that this was good. Genesis 1:12

Mother's Day

Lord, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be a Mother. I can not thank you enough for my three blessings you have given us.

Today was not the day I had expected when I went to bed last night. But it was still a wonderful Mother's Day!
Friday morning Jared was kinda feeling under the weather...but still felt like going to school. Well, late last night Grace and I apparently caught the bug. The stomach bug. Ugh.

So today on Mother's Day we missed out on visiting with our mom's. :(

But this year was so special. This was the first year the kids fixed me a Mother's Day meal all by themselves.

.....and having friends that care enough to remember and "bear" the weight of the sad moments of life are simply priceless.

Relay Race

Today we spent our morning at the track. Caden had a blast! This is his type of thing.. he loves all kinds of sports.. and I really enjoy watching him!

The weather was perfect.. yes the sun was out and they have the bleachers facing the sunrise but this year was the first year, I do believe, we did not roast in those bleachers!

Caden wasn't thrilled about their class t-shirts being pink this year, so when I told him he needed to wear a hat this morning to help block the sun he was happy to grab his Texas Ranger cap. This helped put a little "testosterone" into his track outfit. ;)

Running the 200 meter dash. He was not expecting the 200 to be quite soooo long... he prefers the shorter distances. He came in 3rd out of 8, good job Caden!!

Caden and Aly enjoying chips, candy and sodas from the concession stand.

They really have changed so much just since last year!

You may have noticed my pictures are much larger..I needed to switch to the "new editer" settings and it works so much better with my new computer, and now the pics are huge. I kind of like it though :)

The Ranch

The boys are so excited about attending Rockin' C Ranch for the first time this summer. They will  learn what farm living is like, working with all kinds of farm animals and cattle, all while focusing on the Lord.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to walk around, or as you can see here, take a hay ride around the property, to see most of the activities the boys will be doing. Even though we stopped by the swimming hole,  boats and the high ropes,

The horse back riding was the favorite.

Going over the rules of riding ;)

Giddy up;)

"Am I a Cowboy?" "No baby, your a Cowgirl."  "I'm a Cowgirl!"  "Yes baby, your a Cowgirl!" "Yea! I'm a COWGIRL!!"

Their first time riding a horse by themselves!

They did great and had a blast!

And they were asking me if The Ranch was open again today.
I can't wait to hear what they think about the daily farm chores... the house chores won't seem so bad anymore. ;)

“So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 8:15
