Are You Ready for Some Football?

Tuesday Jared played in his first football game.
Yep,  #53 is my boy!
I still can not believe he is playing Jr. High football and 13!! Ok, can I cry now?  The kids are growing up to dang fast!
He did very well even though I'm still not sure he is loving it. ;) I will say though, he came away from the game smiling! During his game he was told to "calm down, don't be so aggressive" by his opponent. That is the first time I have ever heard that my Jared was aggressive!!
He is growing into a young man and is realizing that he can do more than he thought he could.
Last night, for their first time, the 7th grade band "marched" into the football game!

They did such a great job! I am one proud football/band nerd momma!;)

Lunch Dates

Last Friday I went and had a sweet little lunch date with my Kindergartner!
I got to meet all of her little friends in her class..what a fun age she is in right now! I am doing my best to hold on to every moment!
With Grace having a fairly early lunch 10:45-11:15 I still had plenty of time to meet up with my MOPS moms for lunch! What a fun group of ladies!!

13

Well. It is official.
 Man times flies!!
Can it be? I am the mother of a teenager. 13 years ago today we were given a gift from the Lord.
We are proud to call you our son and excited to see what the Lord has in store for you. Happy birthday, Jared! We love you!

Bacteria or Virus

I was asking Grace on Sunday morning how she was feeling  since she was up most of the night with a "stomach bug". She told me, "Good. A bug flew into my mouth and down into my tummy and I couldn't get it out!"  Oh my goodness, she keeps us laughing around here for sure. Silly girl.

And laughing is always a good thing especially when your husband tells you at 5:45 in the morning that he is sick but that he's going to go ahead and try to go to work for a few hours. And less than one hour later, at 6:30am one son walks into your bedroom telling you he doesn't feel well...And you guessed it, about 10 minutes later Jared walks out of his bedroom holding his stomach. Happy Tuesday to me.

At this point I call Jeff to check on him and to tell him about the boys. Thankfully he was feeling a little better and we went ahead and decided to send the boys to school telling them that if they need me to come get them all they needed to do is call. I wasn't sure if this was food poising or a stomach bug, only because all three of them got sick within an hour of each other and they ate the same thing and  something different then Grace and I.

Anyways, I get a call from this one at 10:00 asking me to please come get him.
I never got a call from this one. I should have though. We called the school to check on him and they ended up asking the wrong child. What?? I was furious. Caden is just like his daddy, he will suffer through his day and never say a word. That's why I called! Ugh. Anyways, as soon as he got in the car I knew he was not well. Then he tells me, "Yeah I ended up throwing up in the restroom at school today." Caden Luke!! Seriously!? Take yourself to the NURCES OFFICE!!

And I also get this lovley text from my hubby....

Oh my gosh. Needless to say all three of them are staying home tomorrow.

3 Day Weekend

We had a fun Labor Day weekend. We always enjoy having an extra day off of work and school!

Jeff and I also had a good time eating and visiting with his co-workers. They are really lots of fun. Not what I had always expected from managent or plant manager! Ha! I also had the opportunity to go by and visit him at work last week. This was the first time in 17 years I have been able to go inside the plant. They normally frown on "outsiders" coming in unless it's a customer. It was fun getting to meet and talk with some of the people he works with.

A few weeks ago, on a Saturday, Jeff took the boys to work with him for a few hours. Wow! So many things are changing with Jeff's new job. But it's changes I could really get used to! Ha!

Flip Flop Girls

Well, today was the first day of my last year in MOPS. I have gotten so used to Grace being with me it was very weird walking in without her.

The theme this year is "Plunge" and we are the Flip Flops table! This couldn't be more perfect for me. I wear flip flops until it is 30 degrees outside. :) It's going to be a fun last year! I had a great time this morning chatting with the sweet moms at my table.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8

"WoRd"

"Hey Mommy, you want me to sing the song I learned in music class today?"
"Well of course I do!"
She has learned so much! I am one proud Momma! Hahaha! ;)
