ER

Over the past four weeks we have been in and out of the Dr's office three times over the same illness and I can not tell you how frustrating it has been. Grace has been fighting a staph infection and according to Taylor medical Jared also had it. After Jared finished his antibiotics he was not better, he was actually a little worse. After we had Thanksgiving with family we decided to make the decision to take him to the ER. These issues had gone on long enough and we weren't sure if he would be allowed back to school on Monday.
His first ER visit and as you can see he was thrilled to be there. He was even more thrilled to find out it was not a staph infection but that he had a small cyst that needed to be removed. The cyst it is being analyzed but the doctors do not feel it's anything to be worried about.
Since we were there we might as well have her looked at since we were still fighting her infection for six weeks. Yes, something that was supposed to be gone in one week we are still fighting it six weeks later.
Can you say pathetic? She was milking it for all it was worth.

The doctor said her leg was healing fine and the infection was gone! Praise Jesus! This was music to my ears! I don't know if you have ever dealt with a staph infection but it is very painful, and VERY disgusting draining it every night. Yuck.

So, I am happy to report that the Cornett family is going to survive and is finally on the mend. :)

Thankful Thanksgiving

I am so thankful for holidays and spending time with family and friends.
I love this photo of Jared and his Papaw
All of the Cornett cousins except for Josh, Caden and Jacob, they were playing basketball at the time and I missed getting a picture of them.
Rachel and Grace:)
Grace and her Aunt Sherry working hard in the kitchen.
A late night backyard football game with the cousins...
and again on Saturday morning with first and second cousins!
I love this one of my family. My Dad saying the prayer before our Thanksgiving meal. We always hold hands and circle up but there is too many of us to get everyone in the photo.

Love my Mom and sister

and love this sweet pic of my brother and his son Gunner! He was telling his Daddy he wanted chicken nuggets from Mc Donald's. This is hilarious because my bro is an owner of a Chick-fil-a Haha! I asked Gunner if he wanted Chick-fil-a nuggets and he said "No, Mc Donald's." He really does love his daddy's nuggets but he was in the mood for Mc Nuggets yesterday. ;)

I am thankful Jeff has had an opportunity to go hunting over the past few weeks with great friends. Trinity tends to shift the work load into overdrive at the end of the year and he has not been able to get the time off to go hunting in 16 years. He shot at three Deer on his first hunting trip and sadly he missed all three. But his buddy Bill got one and was gracious to share the meat with us. Jeff went again on Friday with his good friend Eric and was able to get himself a Doe! Yay! I was so happy for him!
Wow, just look at that table full of meat! What a blessing! The boys had fun helping drain and prepare the meat. Thank you Akins for the freezer vacuum bags!! Some of this meat will be heading your way!

First Field Trip

Grace and her classmates took their first field trip yesterday. Every Kindergartner loves the zoo!
The students were asked to bring a sack lunch and this is what her Daddy drew up for her after she had gone to bed. Oh my goodness, she loved it! When she opened the fridge to get her lunch she gasped and said, "WOW!..why did he do that!? I said, because he loves you."

The original Zoo date was today and I had planned on joining her but the school rescheduled for Thursday two days before and with me still coughing up a lung and I had already committed myself to helping out a friend, I had to miss her first field trip:( My friend would have been fine with me going, and, if she knew I missed this she would probably be upset with me, but with the temperature in the mid 30's I didn't feel this was a good idea. I am ready to get over this crud and cough!

As soon as Grace got into the car I said, "well how was your first Bus ride?! Did you have fun at the Zoo?!"
"Mommy! I wish you could have come with me! It was FUN! I got a feather and a penny!" Oh wow, who gave those to you?! "I found the feather on the ground, it's from a red bird and the penny is from the coin machine. J.J.'s mommy got it for me! See...it has a crockie on it!"

Mrs. Duncan tries to split up the kids with parents to give them more of a one-on-one experience exploring the Zoo animals, which I love. Grace enjoyed walking around with her sweet friend J.J. and her mom and I am so thankful her. For making my baby girls first field trip a success!

Seasons

Appertanly, we have gone from football season to sick season in a weeks time. :( I will take sitting in the cold bleachers vs sitting in a Dr's office 4 out of 7 days, any day.

Grace has had a awful infection in her leg that will not heal. And we are not sure but may have given it to Jared so he is now on antibiotics as of last night.  I have not felt good since Thursday and ended up losing my voice but thankfully it is slowly returning.
One of the Bobcats praying after their last game:) Jared is in front of #32
Last Tuesday was the last game of the year and it was a good one! What an awesome win bobcats! Jared even told me on the way home that he wouldn't mind playing again next year. Wow! That was a shocker!!
Grandparents came out to sheer them on through out the season!
Awesome season Bobcats!
We celebrated Rebecca's 16th birthday at the Olive Garden for dinner!
Nina and Papaw and I joined this little turkey for dinner!
I am so glad I mustered up enough energy to make it to MOPS yesterday. We made these there and I love it! My first burlap wreath! Lol! It took me a little bit, I wish I was more crafty. When I got home I took half of  it apart and "fixed" it. I am pretty proud of it now and have it hanging by my front door! lol

What We've Been Up To

This post is just some of what we've been up to the past two weeks.
My three drug free kidos! Kicking off Red Ribbon Week in red!

My Aunt Peggy and Uncle Don came from Lake Palestine to watch Jared play football! I love my family so much!

I took these three to the park while Jared was at after school practice one day...
It was neat to watch the kids play on the same play ground I played on as a child.

I had lunch with Caden and had the opportunity to meet his friends at school. I will say these are some pretty sweet boys!

Grace and Nathan at his birthday party. Yes, Grace is Miss Sassy pants. She is too much!

Nana and Grace at Caden's football game. I don't know why but I love this photo so much!

I took a few pics of the boys at Andrew's 13th Birthday Party. Jared had a blast of course!
I also got this cute pic of Grace and Aimee's Aunt and Step Mom! Love it!

Have a blessed week everyone!!
